Dhoom 2

Dhoom 2 is the sequel to the hit film Dhoom. The film has been produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Sanjay Ghadvi. The music of Dhoom was a super hit and the promotional song sung by Tata Young was sensational and appealing to the masses. Naturally there are high expectations from the movie as well as its music. The film is one of the most awaited films of the year and this adventurous action packed thriller is said to have loads of hi-tech special effects and some amazing stunts. Dhoom 2 has been shot in some sizzling locations like Rio, Namibia and South Africa. The film has some of the characters who were seen in the prequel, Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra and several new faces like Hrithik Roshan in a negative role, Aishwarya Rai and Bipasha Basu. The music of the film has been composed by Pritam once again; Salim and Sulaiman Merchant and the songs have been rendered by artists Sunidhi Chauhan, K.K, Sonu Nigam, Alisha Chinai, Vishal Dadlani and even actress Bipasha Basu. The music album has some mass appeal songs and on the whole the music score is above average but unfortunately falls short when compared to Dhoom music album and hence is a bit disappointing.

Dhoom Again- This is the title track of the film and begins with a very catchy whistle. The tune is reminiscent of the original Dhoom Machale tune. Vishal Dadlani croons this number which has a high quotient of English lyrics and he is accompanied by the female voice of Dominique Cerejo. The beats are fast, peppy and heavy sounding. A number of musical instruments like the electric guitar and drum are heard. The tune, style and lyrics attempt to give it an extremely western touch but it still retains a popular mass Indian appeal with its heavy beats and punch packed rhythm. Although the song is peppy and energetic when compared with the earlier theme song which rocked the nation it is a bit of a downer. Nonetheless its vivacious and energetic appeal will make it quite popular in its own way.
Score: 8/10
